I built my first systems under pressure that left no room for error. At the Pentagon, I held a Top Secret clearance, led a team running daily operations and classified workstations, and organized briefings and conferencing for department heads. That work earned me a Joint Chiefs of Staff Medal alongside Army Achievement and Good Conduct Medals. A decade in the U.S. Army taught me that structure isn't the enemy of fast moving work; it's what makes fast moving work survivable.
I brought that same rigor into civilian leadership as Chief Operations Officer at C.A.S.T.L.E. High School, reporting monthly to the Board and working alongside the CEO and Treasurer on budget. I wrote and implemented the operational policies that held the school accountable, overseeing audits, health and building inspections, risk management, contracts and leases, business insurance, and the state systems that governed enrollment accuracy. I secured a $450,000 federal technology grant through the E Rate program, and founded an attendance and GPA incentive program that earned regional media coverage. Order, applied well, doesn't just protect an organization. It can change outcomes for the people inside it.
The decade since has been spent translating that same discipline into HR and operations leadership for growing companies, managing project administration, risk assessment, billing, and the people systems behind teams of 100+ employees. Always the person building the framework underneath the work everyone else gets credit for.
I'm also a mother. I’ve raised two daughters who built their own lives on the structure I gave them and then made something entirely their own with it: a poet and disability advocate living with cerebral palsy, and a creative studio marketing entrepreneur. Watching them taught me something I didn't learn at the Pentagon: that the right structure doesn't constrain creative or emotional life. It's what lets it expand without collapsing.
That's the work I do now. I help creative entrepreneurs build the policies, procedures, and order of operations their businesses need to grow, without losing the alignment between the work and why they started it in the first place.
